NPR’s States Team connects 140 station reporters who cover state government across the country. All Things Considered Host Scott Detrow will lead a conversation exploring how collaboration fuels the team to cover some of today’s biggest stories – from states redrawing their voting maps to the federal takeover of policing in U.S. cities. The annual Student Podcast Challenge invites students from around the country to create a podcast and compete for a chance to have their work featured on NPR. Over the past seven years, students have created more than 17,000 podcasts, educators have incorporated the challenge into their curriculum, and the Library of Congress even recognized it with an award this year for its outstanding contributions to increasing literacy. Student Podcast Challenge creator Steve Drummond brings his team to the Weekend in Washington stage to celebrate the legacy of the competition and reflect on some of the best student storytelling.
